Boost Cape Cod was founded by Amy Gorrigan Levine to provide freelance marketing services, public relations and project management for small business and nonprofit clients.
Amy G. Levine is a highly-experienced marketing and public relations consultant proudly living and working on Cape Cod. Prior to “washing ashore” in 2004, Amy began her career in the nonprofit sector at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay in Boston. There she developed a knack for designing and implementing educational programs and interactive events that illustrate community impact. With $500, a persuasive sales pitch, and countless hours of self-imposed overtime, she recruited 30 volunteer photographers and created the “United Way at Work” photo exhibit. Under Amy’s direction, each was assigned to capture photos that illustrated donor contributions “at work” at a United Way funded agency. The result was a 53-piece exhibit which traveled through high-traffic building lobbies educating potential donors throughout the United Way campaign season.
In 1996, Amy was recruited by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and served as Regional Advance Manager for the Olympic Torch Relay. She spent a year living on the road coordinating logistics and laying the groundwork for the Olympic Flame’s 43-day journey from Los Angeles to Atlanta. She worked collaboratively with event sponsors and local community leaders to mobilize more than 75 community task forces to plan community celebrations and build crowds along the route.
When the Olympics concluded, Amy relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where she managed promotions and event marketing for NaturalSport walking shoes, a division of the Naturalizer brand. Her experience with sponsorships and consumer engagement then led her back to Boston where she managed national retail promotions and cause-related marketing efforts for New Balance Athletic Shoe before joining the New Balance Foundation to manage the company’s grantmaking and charitable giving programs. Amy later served as Marketing Manager at New Balance Mashpee, where she coordinated the store’s grand opening, advertising, promotions, email marketing, and consumer loyalty programs.
After relocating to Cape Cod, Amy served as Executive Director of the Chatham Chamber of Commerce where she focused on membership sales, community relations, business advocacy and destination marketing. She would later use these skills to sell associate memberships, advertising and meeting sponsorships for Dunkin’ Donuts Independent Franchise Owners (DDIFO).
Amy was eventually recruited by the Cape and Islands United Way where she re-branded and launched the “Rising Tide” business partnership program. This “pay it forward” community investment vehicle allowed the United Way to recognize and showcase local business donors and drive consumer traffic through email marketing, retail promotions, print ads and point of purchase materials.
Through her experience at the United Way, Amy had the opportunity to work collaboratively with many local businesses and nonprofits on Cape Cod. She recognized the obstacles these businesses often face with limited resources and minimal staff. Those challenges inspired Amy to create BOOST, using her unique background and experience to offer outsourced marketing services to businesses and nonprofits that often just need an extra hand to manage a project or event, or bring an existing program to the next level.
With more than 25 years of marketing and event experience, Amy’s creative energy, strategic thinking and entrepreneurial style have helped her create, implement and leverage several programs and events on Cape Cod and beyond. Amy is also a Constant Contact Solution Provider and can help you set up or manage a customized email marketing program to suit your needs.
